The little life update: My 19th birthday

I really need to get a blogging schedule because finding the time to blog is really difficult at the moment! Luckily for me, I have a reading week next week so I will have some time to write up lots of posts to schedule for the next few weeks. On Thursday, it was my 19th birthday which meant lots of shopping, yummy food and spending time with my favourite people. I went to an amazing little tea room in my local village which has recently opened and fell in love. The whole place is covered in little Cath Kidston style decor from bunting to tea cups and saucers- it is so lovely. I'm actually going to write a post on it which should be up in the next few days. They also had snails, cats and bird shaped salt and pepper shakers- I am sold.

I finally caved and bought a MAC Pro eyeshadow palette. My lovely best friend Hannah, who also has a blog here, gave me the little push I needed when she bought me Omega eyeshadow as well as spoiling me with lots of lovely presents. Clearly having a beauty blogger as your best friend pays off as I was spoilt with lots of lovely beauty bits! I also was lucky enough to have a Debenhams voucher off my Grandma so I spent a small fortune in MAC on Saturday. My mum almost fainted when she saw how much my bill came to haha. I've been doing a bit too much shopping lately so a spending ban might be on the cards gulp.

I've been looking for a coat for so long and finally found a lovely grey double breasted wool coat from Zara which was a bargain at £29.99 rather than the original price of around £50-£60. It's still on the website here and it comes in quite a few colours. I was stuck between the black and the grey and admittedly if my mother wasn't with me, I probably would have bought both *slaps wrist*. The amount of women in the shop hovering around this specific coat's stand trying on them all was insane. My mum picked up my size in every colour and ran to me which is lucky because there was only one of my size in each left- she's a good egg.

My lovely boyfriend treated me to a birthday breakfast in Frankie & Benny's and spoilt me with lots of lovely presents. Before my birthday he also gave me flowers after a horrible day at work but I completely forgot to put them in my last post oops. The beautifully wrapped pink and white present was from my boyfriend's mum who always every year without fail wraps all presents so beautifully it makes me jealous! My lovely mum and dad gave me Enrapture Extremity heated rollers for my birthday which I've wanted to try for so so long. I'm still trying to get the hang of them, but so far I love them.

I have to admit, I am a little bit obsessed with sweet potato wedges. They are so so easy to make and I love sprinkling them with lots of cajun spice, a little bit of olive oil and some salt and pepper then just shove them in the oven- easy peasy! I'm also addicted to Sweet and Salted popcorn at the moment, particularly Metcalfe's Skinny popcorn- tastes amaze!

A longer update than I imagined so congratulations if you got this far! As I have the weekend off work I'm going to have a very lazy Sunday in front of the fire with my mum's roast which I haven't had for way too long. Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
love Ellie x

The Autumn make-up overhaul: Eyes

Autumn is finally upon us and I am loving it. October is my favourite month and not just because of my birthday! I love adding layers to your outfits and the way outside looks so pretty. I've been having a bit of an overhaul within my make-up and wardrobe this month and have been buying quite a few bits!

I've been fancying changing up my make-up as I feel like I've been in a bit of a rut recently. That's probably due to me wanting extra sleep so leaving getting ready until the last possible minute. After buying the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette a month or so ago, I haven't really used it on my eyes that often. I've been using it for my eyebrows and sometimes a crease colour buy that's it really so I've been reaching for this more this week and I'm really enjoying it. I've been creating a few simple eye looks and I've really liked playing around with the colours. W.O.S all over the lid with Naked 2 & Faint in the crease with the matte black shade Crave along the lash line has been a favourite look of mine recently as it defines the eyes without looking too in your face that you can get with shimmery shades in the day.

As I've been trying to change up my make-up I've attempted to incorporate liquid eye liner into my routine. I've used it quite a few times when I've been going out or when I've been feeling adventurous with a lot of time on my hands to do my make-up, but I've never really worn it on a day to day basis.  I've been really enjoying using the Soap & Glory Supercat liquid eyeliner pen as it's the most easy to use one I've tried so far- by far the blackest, an easy nib and doesn't transfer unlike every other one I've tried. I always found that liquid eyeliner didn't really look right on me but after a bit of practice I've realised that a really thin line with a tiny flick suits my eye shape etc. best. But you still won't catch me wearing it everyday just yet. A liquid eyeliner pen at 8am and myself do not mix.

I've been using mascaras with plastic bristles for so long now I don't even think I own a natural bristle mascara if that's what they're called in my collection any more before I picked up the Revlon Lash Potion mascara. Admittedly it did take quite a while to get used to the change in bristles but I love using this mascara. It looks so natural and makes eyelashes huge if you apply just one coat onto curled eyelashes and can be built up quite a bit to create more a dramatic look without getting those horrendous spider like eye lashes!

The other week my boyfriend and I went to the Student Lock In event in Cardiff which was so horrendously busy and crowded making it almost impossible to enjoy shopping. So we decided to go into John Lewis so I could look in the beauty hall which was really quiet and peaceful compared to the madness occurring in the other shops! I took the time to have a little browse of the NARS counter and found myself swatching away at the eyeshadows. I've read so many reviews on the Kalahari eyeshadow duo so I finally picked it up and it is so gorgeous! I will be doing a full review next week but it is just perfect for Autumn as it has lovely warm bronze/taupe shades which are stunning!

What products have you added into your makeup bag for Autumn?

If I was a rich girl.. The lust list

Handbag lusting

- Mulberry Small Bayswater Satchel - Mulberry Medium Lily Oatmeal Micrograin Calf- Mulberry Alexa Oak Polished Buffa- Kate Spade Claremont Drive Ilana- Celine-

Ever since my mum mentioned that we're going to Bicester Village in Oxfordshire for a shopping trip on my birthday weekend I have been obsessed with lusting after designer handbags.
I've always told myself 'I will buy myself a Mulberry bag one day'. The bags just look classic, amazing quality and simply stunning. I've been obsessed with the Mulberry Alexa for a long time now and I can definitely see myself buying one in the future if I ever get the chance. I will definitely be having a little look in their outlet store but I highly doubt I will be purchasing sadly seeing as I'm on a student budget!

I've only recently had a proper look at Kate Spade handbags after hearing about them all the time. They are so gorgeous! I adore the 'pink champagne' shade and the shape of the bag itself. Although they're not exactly affordable, Kate Spade are much cheaper than Mulberry bags. There's a Kate Spade store in the outlet village so I'm really excited to see what I can find in there as they seem a bit more in reach than a Mulberry.
In the past few months it seems like Celine bags and replicas have been popping up everywhere! I love this black and white version!
I've noticed that a few of these bags are pale shades which says something as I don't actually own any bags that aren't tan or black coloured. I think on the highstreet, it's difficult to get a nude coloured bag that doesn't look tacky and cheap in my opinion. The Kate Spade and Mulberry bags that are in a nude/pink champagne shades look amazing quality. I think its safe to say I will have to restrain myself on my visit to Bicester Village!

What designer handbags have you always lusted after?
