July favourites

This month has been firmly dedicated to light, radiant and bronzed skin. After watching the entire collection of Made In Chelsea seasons in just a few weeks, I've been feeling compelled to have make-up as beautifully radiant as the cast. Millie Mackintosh is the perfect example of a lady that likes glowy bronzed make-up.
Since I've got a bit of colour from my holiday, I've been attempting to keep it up seeing as my tan fades so so quickly sob. To help with this I've been loving sweeping Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning across my face, neck and d├ęcolletage with a cotton pad, every few nights. This is amazing for brightening up the complexion and added a bit of subtle sun kissed colour. It can easily be built up to a more intense colour with more applications.
To go hand in hand with the face tanner, I've been applying Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning a few days a week under my make-up. Not only is it an amazing base for make-up application, it adds a subtle touch of colour which develops underneath make-up throughout the day.
I've been loving using Dr Jart Waterfuse BB Cream as a base recently for its low coverage and healthy dewiness it gives to my face. When I apply this I can literally see it correcting the redness in my skin, meaning that after application I only need a touch of concealer in places.
To push the glowy bronzed make-up that the MIC cast would be proud of even further, I love applying my all time favourite highlighter- Benefit Watts Up. I apply this along my cheek bones and a touch down the centre of my nose with my fingers. I like to warm the product up with my fingers first so it blends nicer.
I've also been loving the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors for a sheer wash of pinky colour on the lips. These are not sticky at all and are perfect to wear in the day time. I reviewed these previously here.

What products have you been loving this month?

Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors

So after lusting after these lip glosses for a very long time, I finally decided to pick them up when I saw them in a set together in the airport! I thought this was the perfect time to buy them as I was undecided on which shade to get. Two full sized tubes of Rose Shimmer and Peach Shimmer were included in the set.
The main thing I love about these is the consistency, they aren't sticky at all. What has put me off lipgloss in the past is the fact that every one I've tried is ridiculously sticky and annoying to wear.
Both shades are perfect- sheer, glossy tints of colour which mean they look perfect for everyday make-up looks, especially barely there make-up which I've been loving at the moment. I also love pairing the shade Peach Shimmer with a smokey eye look.
I was expecting a little more pigmentation on first application, but surprisingly I'm really enjoying using these. I've found myself reaching for one most days. I couldn't resist trying one on on the plane journey and I didn't have a mirror to hand.. So I asked the boy what colour it was and he replied 'see-through colour'- typical man comment haha!
They are so easy to wear with any make-up look and ridiculously simple to reapply throughout the day.
Have you tried any of the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors?

A little life update: The summer holiday

Hellllo, So a few weeks ago my boyfriend and I jetted off to sunny Lanzarote for a week. I didn't take many photos whilst I was there- mostly because I forgot but also partly because my straighteners broke whilst I was there- nightmare! I thought I would just share a few photos of our time as we had an amazing time and the hotel is absolutely incredible.
We spent most of the week sunbathing and eating the amazing food- I had pancakes with melted white chocolate almost twice a day without fail. (I might have had twenty pancakes in one day at one point oops..) Aside from a pancake overload and their ridiculous alcohol measures (their single would be our equivalent to a triple so the cocktails were lethal), we had an amazing time and I can't wait to go away again next year!
We stayed in Playa Blanca in Lanzarote in H10 Rubicon Palace Hotel just in case any of you were interested.

The new additions: The holiday buys

As my Saturday morning and afternoon was spent in a Spanish bar in Playa Blanca, watching the Lions last week (snore), I bribed the boy to come shopping with me afterwards.
The perfumeries are amazing in Playa Blanca! They have brands such as Clarins, YSL, Dior, Chanel, Estee Lauder and put 40% discount on almost everything! I don't know how I stopped myself from buying the whole YSL and Chanel stands!
In the perfumeries, I only ended up buying Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning and Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning, as both of which, I've wanted to try for the longest time and they will help me keep my tan now I'm home. They were both cheaper than in the UK I believe, as I got both for £29 where as it would be £36 over here if my maths are correct!
In the airport, before the return flight, I couldn't resist buying a perfume as I've needed a new one for a while as my favourite is on its last drop. I've had quite a few bottles of Vera Wang's Princess before and loved it. It's such a lovely sweet and fresh fragrance and it lasts forever.
According to The Perfume Shop, Princess is a mixture of waterlily, apple, mandarin meringue, and golden apricot skin, dark chocolate, amber, musk and vanilla.
I also couldn't resist picking up the duo of the Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors in Peach Shimmer and Rose Shimmer. I've wanted to try both shades for so long and as they were cheaper in a set of the two, I thought why not! I bought the Clarins lip perfectors and Vera Wang Princess perfume in Duty Free in the airport, which also had offers on the perfumes. So I ended up getting the 50ml bottle of perfume and two full size lip perfectors for £47, which I think is quite a good deal considering the 50ml bottle is £44 on its own at home!
I'm planning on buying quite a few things in the next few weeks as I haven't spent any of my pay yet and I got all my tax back finally *happy dance* So I'd love to know what products you're loving at the moment and what are you lusting after?

The holiday prep

Everyone's favourite kind of year has come around again, who doesn't love summer holidays? I'm lucky enough to be going on holiday tomorrow with my boyfriend for the first time ever so as you can imagine my excitement is sky high right now! One of my favourite parts of going on holiday (aside from actually being there of course) is prepping for going away. By holiday 'prep' I mean everything from jamming my case full of bikinis, shopping for sun cream, loading up my iPhone & Kindle and having a good ol' pamper the night before.

My boyfriend and I will be going to Lanzarote tomorrow afternoon so today has been firmly dedicated to holiday preparations. I'm writing up a few posts to schedule for the week ahead so my blog won't be completely lonely for a whole week. My kindle is being charged and filled with a dozen new books- there's something about reading in the sun which makes me very happy. My boyfriend is creating our holiday playlist right now as well- he's a good egg.

The best bit of the holiday prep is of course the mini(?!) pamper session that comes with it. This includes everything from washing my hair, giving my skin a good detox with a mask or two, painting my nails and giving my body a good scrub & moisturise. Having my nails painted for a whole week is going to feel like a luxury (yes I do realise how sad that sounds) as I'm not allowed to have them painted in work- sob :( Essie's Fear or Desire and Nails Inc Royal Botanical Gardens are my picks of choice. I just can't decide which one is going on my finger nails and toe nails. Oh life is hard..

I'm going to try to create a holiday lookbook when I return. However how this will turn out is a mystery to me as I'm yet to ever do an ootd post. I guess it will be easier with someone to take my photographs for me, we'll just have to see how it goes! I'm looking forward to some sun as I'm ridiculously pale right now so a healthy glowing tan would be amazing!

Do you enjoy the 'holiday prep' as much as I do? If you're off anywhere this summer, I hope you have a lovely time!
