Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector Daily All-in-one B.B. cream- I bought this absolutely ages ago back when it first launched in the UK. At the time I was quite into medium-full coverage foundation (former big fan of Estee Lauder's Double Wear) so I didn't really take to it. I found it was way too light coverage for me. But after re-booting my whole make-up routine after falling in love with light coverage after trying MAC Face and Body, I decided to give it another go. After one day of using this, I fell completely in love with it. It's such an easy product to use as I don't need the whole moisturiser-primer-foundation routine, I can just squeeze a pea-sized amount onto my Real Techniques Buffing brush and buff it into my entire face. It just looks so natural and my skin looks glowing and radiant. As it isn't much coverage I have to touch up a few blemishes with a dab of concealer but I much prefer doing this rather than having heavy coverage where it isn't needed, as the majority of my skin is really clear at the moment.

Too Faced Naked Eye palette- This is the perfect neutral eye palette for me. I adore almost every shade in this and they are just so soft and easily to blend. I purchased this at a blog sale for the bargain price of £10! This has been compared to Urban Decay's Naked palette but being a bit tight on the amount of money I'm willing to spend on eye shadow (as I don't get much use out of it really), I thought this was a cheaper alternative to a neutral eye look.

Victoria's Secret Love Spell fragrance mist- This could be classed as a bit of a cheat on the monthly favourites as I only bought this last week but I absolutely adore it, I've used it every day since I bought it and I can tell it will be a firm favourite of mine for a long time. This smells absolutely gorgeous. I went to the new Victoria's Secret in London on Wednesday, it is such a gorgeous shop! I persuaded myself that I didn't need the full size bottle due to my over flowing basket of pretty pink underwear but I'm now gutted that I didn't buy the full sized bottle as I love it so much- boo! It says the scent is cherry blossom and peach, I think the smell of peach is stronger than cherry blossom as it smells so sweet and fruity. It's a scent for girls that love really sweet fruity scents as my Mum can't stand it as she's into musky scents. I prefer wearing body mists/spritzs in the summer months as it is so much lighter and fresher.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray- I got this mini in a bride make-up set last summer which I bought for my prom make-up. I completely forgot I had this but once I remembered it has become a firm favourite this month. With Britain finally sorting itself out and giving us some much loved sunshine, this has been a must at preventing my make-up from melting and for freshening it up throughout the day. I was tempted to buy the Caudalie beauty elixir as everyone has been talking about it, but after enjoying this I think I might just buy the big size of this one.

Topshop Nails in Day Dream- Another cheat, oops! I bought this last week in London's Topshop. I have to say I was so dissapointed with the make-up section in the Oxford Street Topshop. I haven't been in there since Topshop started doing make-up so I was expected big things. It had a much better selection than the Cardiff branch but I was expecting it to be huge:( Despite that, this nail polish is amazing. I'm ashamed to say that this is my first Topshop nail polish, I've wanted one for so so long after lusting after the shades I've seen on various blogs but never actually got round to buying one. The photo of this colour definitely does not do it justice. It's a gorgeous bubblegum pink that will be a firm favourite of mine.

No7 Exceptional Definition mascara- I ended up getting this free last month in a freebie set that came with an no7 offer that my Mum bought. I absolutely love this mascara. As my eye lashes are naturally quite long and have quite a curl to them, this just defined, lengthened and curled them perfectly. It has a finer part on one side of the wand and the other is bigger. I use the bigger bristles on my top lashes and the finer, shorter ones on my bottom lashes. I have to be careful with putting mascara on my bottom lashes as they are sooo long and can look stupidly doll-like if I coat the whole length of them. But the wand of this puts the perfect amount on them- it defines them but doesn't lengthen them too much. I got this mascara in the shade Brown/Black, I usually go for black mascaras just for the fact that it's what I'm used to, but I'm glad I got given this shade as it looks more natural than my other mascaras but still defines them enough.

Bourjois Bronzing Powder(chocolate bronzer)- I got this absolutely ages ago before I discovered the art of contouring. I previously used it as an overall bronzer whilst on holiday. It was soon forgotten about when I purchased Sleek contour kit, but after a while of using that I found that it was too muddy for my skin tone. After trying this on my contour with Real Techniques contour brush, I am in love with using this as a contour and occasionally, an all over bronzer.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural and Shimmer- I've spoken about this previously so I won't go into it in much detail unless you would like a full in-depth review. I adore using the powder side to set my foundation as I find it isn't cakey at all and leaves a lovely finish to the skin without making it too matte. I use my Real Techniques Buffing brush to buff the powder into the areas where I need which is my t-zone. I love using the shimmer as a cheekbone highlight. I brush it along my cheekbone with Real Techniques contour brush. I also use the Real Techniques Pointed foundation brush with the powder side to set my under eye area.

Bobbi Brown Corrector- This is amazing for dabbing on my dark under-eye circles as it just brightens my whole eye. When I first started using this I didn't notice much difference, but if I go without it my dark circles are so much more noticeable. I dab this on with my finger after warming it up on the back of my hand. I then blend it in gently with my ring finger.

No7 High Shine SPF15 lip gloss in Happy- I used to absolutely adore lip glosses but after becoming a lipstick convert I threw out most, if not all of my lip glosses as they had just gone gunky and sticky- gross! I was after a lip gloss to wear over MAC's Angel lipstick, this is the perfect one. It has a subtle pink/peach colour, but it isn't too pigmented. I adore wearing this over either Mac's Shy Girl or Angel.

Max Factor Lipfinity topcoat- I had two of these given to me by my boyfriend's grandma as she uses the Lipfinity lipstick but doesn't use the balm/topcoat. I love using this over slightly drying lipsticks, it just gives a touch of moisture. I don't really like really glossy lips if I'm wearing a bright colour but I don't like them to be really matte either so a tiny bit of this over it gives a nice sheen. I'm not sure if you can buy these separately but I have two on the go at the moment and although there isn't much product, a little goes a long way. One thing I wish I could change to this product is that it is doesn't have a really nice scent and it is tasteless. The scent is neither pleasant nor unpleasant, it is barely noticeable. I think that a fruity/sweet scent would add a touch of luxury to this product. I adore swiping this across my lips over MAC's Impassioned which I have reviewed here.

Mac lipstick in Impassioned- Swatches and dupe

Mac 'Impassioned'
This gorgeous shade is described as an amped-up fuchsia on the mac website. I adore this shade as it is so bright and vibrant. Due to it's Amplified finish it lasts ridiculously long. I've found that this colour literally stains my lips, I can put it on before a night out, it won't budge at all and in the morning I will have a stain of this colour on my lips. Below is a swatch:

Before I purchased Impassioned, I bought Max Factor Bewitching Coral. After a few swatches of this against Mac's Impassioned I've realised it is practically the same shade. Mac's Impassioned retails at £14 and Max Factor's Bewitching Coral retails at £7.99.

From top-bottom:
swatch 1- Max Factor's Bewitching Coral swatched heavily
swatch 2- Max Factor's Bewitching Coral swatched lightly
swatch 3- Mac's Impassioned swatched heavily
swatch 4- Mac's Impassioned swatched lightly

As you can probably tell from the swatches above, there isn't much difference between the two lipsticks shade-wise. Although the formulation of the Max Factor lipstick isn't as nice as the Mac's amplified finish, it is still a lovely lipstick. I probably wouldn't buy the Mac one again, I would go for the Max Factor dupe as it is a cheaper alternative. Personally, I don't really see much difference between the formulation although the mac lipstick tends to last an hour or so longer.

make-up wishlist

make-up wishlist

make-up wishlist
This is the make-up that I am currently lusting after. Obviously being a student I cannot afford to purchase all of these but a girl can dream! I'm visiting London for a spot of shopping next week so I may have to choose a few for a cheeky purchase!
YSL Shocking Mascara- I am in need of a new mascara as I'm almost out of my current one (Urban Decay). I haven't tried many high end mascaras and I've heard great things about this mascara so I might have to give it a go!
Essie Ballet Slippers- I'm such a sucker for cute pink nails! I don't own any shades that are similar to this one and I adore the milky pink shade.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser- I'm in desperate need in finding a tinted moisturiser that actually works! I've tried a ridiculous amount of high street/drug store versions but am yet to find one that doesn't make my face look stupidly red or provide no coverage what-so-ever. I've heard such amazing things about this tinted moisturiser and being a fan of light coverage, I'm desperate to give this a go.
YSL Touche Eclat foundation- This foundation has completely exploded all over the blogger-sphre recently and being a complete sucker for every cult beauty product I'm dying to give this a try. I'll definitely be picking up a sample next time I'm by the counter.
MAC Mineralise Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle- I've recently been loving mineralise highlighters since the one I've been trying out in my Skin Finish Natural & Shimmer. I know this is quite a popular shade so I'd like to try it.
Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler- I'm still contemplating whether this is a tad overpriced for an eyelash curler.. But from what I've heard it's definitely worth every penny. I had absolutely no problem using the eyelash curler I previously owned (unbranded, from a drugstore in Spain) until the handle completely fell off.. I used to think an eyelash curler was just simply, an eyelash curler. But apparently not.
Benefit Coralista lipgloss- I am absolutely in love with Benefit Coralista box powder blush. It is just the most beautiful colour ever. I'm excited to try this and see if I love it as much as the blush!
Benefit Beautiful Eyes eye shadow palette- I've already gone through one of these. I abosolutely adored using it! Although I wasn't the biggest fan of Boi-ing concealer that was inside it (I used it all up so couldn't have been THAT bad) , the colours make the colour of my blue eyes stand out amazingly and they just work really really well. It took a long while to use this up (minus the concealer that was gone within a month or so). I'd definitely snap another one of these up as it's also so handy for travelling.

Recent purchases.

I recently purchased MAC mineralise skin finish natural/shimmer and Too Faced Naked eye palette.

I have wanted to try out a mineralise skin finish forever as I have heard plenty of good things about them. I've used MAC powders previously- blot powder. I didn't really get along with it as a powder itself but as a blotting powder it was great.
I have only used this once as I only received it this morning, however I can already tell it is going to become a staple in my make-up routine. Although I have wanted to try this for so long, I couldn't bear parting my pennies with it as I wasn't sure if I would like it. So when I spotted a mineralise skin finish natural with a section of highlighting shimmer for half price on a blog sale I couldn't say no! The shimmer looks lovely along the top of my cheek bone and the powder itself looks natural. I have applied it over MAC Face and Body and they seem to work wonderfully together.

I also purchased TooFaced Naked Eye Palette from the same blog sale. After hearing Rachel's review here , I thought I should give it a go seeing as I gave the Urban Decay Naked palettes a miss due to the hefty price tag. I love neutral eye make-up and these eye shadows seem very nice quality. I have used the shades Birthday Suit, Satin Sheets, Umarkables and Lap Dance this morning and I have to say I am very impressed at the quality!

*Disclaimer- All products were purchased with my own money
**I do apologise for the awful quality of photos, hoping to work on this soon.

First post- Daily make-up.

Daily make-up.

I'm new to blogging so please bear with me. Here is my current daily make-up routine with a mini review of each product:

  • Simple Kind To Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturiser. I like this moisturiser because it's light on the skin. I feel as if most moisturisers are too heavy for my skin and cause me to break out in my t-zone. This is light enough but moisturising enough on my dryer areas for a make-up base.
  • MAC Face and Body foundation. I have a love-hate relationship with this foundation. At times it can make my skin look amazing- glowing, natural and subtle coverage. Although sometimes it can make my t-zone incredibly oily and slip off my skin like nothing else. I find if I use the Simple moisturiser (as mentioned above), it works like a dream. Heavier moisturisers seem to create a oily, slippery mess of this foundation. However, I love the glowy, natural effect this foundation gives my skin. I apply this with my fingers and blend with my MAC 130 once I have applied concealer.
  • Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette. I had this given to me in a swap over Make-up alley. I have enjoyed using this but I don't think it really lived up to 'the hype'. It is a reasonably good product and I have no real complaints, it does the job. But, I am yet to find a concealer that really really like.
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. I have really enjoyed using this powder. I just dust lightly over my t-zone to combat oily-ness that my MAC Face and Body tends to give if left un-powdered. It reduces the oily look really well and I have nothing but good things to say about it. A light hand must be used as with all powders, too much can look cakey and not very natural looking at all.
  • Benefit Coralista. I absolutely adore this blusher. I received it off my lovely Mother on Christmas day and I haven't gone a day without using it since. A whole seven months later and although I have hit pan, I still have a long while to go before this runs out. It is amazingly pigmented, the colour is beautiful- it brightens up my skin tone whether I am pale or tanned and unlike most blushers I have used in the past, it is impossible to cake. I have always found blushers to either go cakey or look too chalky on my skin- high end or not, but this really does just glide on beautifully and stays put all day. Whether it is applied sheer or built up for a bigger pop of colour, this is my all time favourite blusher and it would take a lot to replace it.
  • Benefit High beam. I got this in a mini sample size when purchasing a magazine (I can't recall which one, I'm sure it was one of my favourites- Glamour or Company). I got this quite a few months ago and I'm yet to buy the full size as it still hasn't ran out. I really love dabbing this across the top of my cheek bones and my tear duct if applying an eye shadow look. The only downfall it has for me is that way too much product comes off on the brush which can be kind of annoying but other than that it is a lovely product.
  • Bobbi Brown Corrector. Admittedly, when I first had this given to me (my cousin passed on a lot of make-up that she doesn't use to me), I didn't like it at all. I think what put me off was that I didn't really know what to do with it. I tried putting it on my under eye area and it just seemed to cake and crease. But with a bit of research I discovered that the correct way to apply was to warm it up a little with my finger then with my ring finger lightly dab under my under eye area. This corrector has now become a vital part of my make-up routine and I feel that I look extremely tired without it.
  • Carmex Cherry SPF15 Lip Balm pot. I absolutely adore this lip balm. It keeps my lips moisturised for hours and the tingly feeling on my lips makes me feel extremely refreshed. This works perfectly underneath slightly drying lipsticks/lip stains.
  • MAC Angel lipstick. The colour and finish of this lipstick is beautiful. What originally attracted me to this lipstick was the colour, on the lips it is the most easy to wear pink shade. I've also heard that it is Miss Kim Kardashian's favourite lipstick? Maybe that won me over too. It doesn't last as long as my other MAC lipstick, Impassioned as that is an Amplified finish and Angel is a Frost. However this is my daily go-to lipstick as I adore the shade.
*Disclaimer- All products were purchased with my own money and all opinions are my own.
